The rest of the story - Why Klauser left Neumann Campaign

Charlie Sykes posted a bit about Jim and Shirley Klauser leaving the Neumann team. We posted on it here.

But Charlie didn't post the rest of the Wispolitics story on why Klauser was leaving. This is interesting stuff.

The source indicated Klauser believes Neumann has failed to build a successful campaign operation and with the race developing faster than expected, it is time for Republicans to coalesce around Walker.

Neumann campaign consultant Bruce Pfaff acknowledged Klauser had raised some concerns about a few things, but said Neumann hadn't yet spoken about them in depth with him. Still, Pfaff said it didn't impact the direction of the campaign and noted that Klauser has been highly critical of Walker in the past for how he's run Milwaukee County and a lack of vision.

"It doesn’t really change anything on the direction and the strategy that Mark's put in place that he feels will win this thing," Pfaff said.

Pfaff came on board Neumann's campaign to help get a campaign operation in place. He said he is still working on that, and his long-term role with the campaign has not been determined.

Bruce Pfaff shouldn't get too comfortable there. Although from what I hear he doesn't spend much time with the campaign anyway. And Chris Lato just seems to have disappeared. Mr. Lato was Neumann's press contact up until earlier this month. Now Mark Neumann is his own press contact.
